Packaging

Flexibility is the single most important term when thinking of packaging and value-added services at Cargo Integrated Logistics. Our flexible terms and agile workforce offer our clients the adaptability they need to complete their projects away from their core business and daily production environment. This allows them to stay on task with efficient operations without the disruption of season peaks, special projects, and huge swings in manpower.

Often, DC Managers and Plant Managers are saddled with packaging related rework projects that completely take them out of their normal process flows. Their valuable manpower is diverted away from their daily activities to handle all types of projects from relabeling, to reworking of functionally obsolete products. Repacking, promotional product offerings, sales samples, and other display related projects could be included in this list.

The result is called “Resource Distraction”. “Resource Distraction” projects pull away from efficient operations by taking valuable space, material handling equipment, packaging equipment, materials, man hours, and applying them to low revenue producing tasks. This takes a normally efficient operation and puts it into a tailspin by adding costs with little or no revenue to put against it.

Other soft costs that should not be overlooked should be applied to the projects. These costs are related to management time diversion, which includes HR management of the additional staff, lead and managers assigned to the temporary project, A/P time, material handler hours, direct labor, benefits, and much more.

Cargo Integrated Logistics can handle these projects offsite at our facilities. We have the space, assets, and people to move the products, stage them, warehouse them if needed, and assemble the parts to a new, completed, finished good item. We can then either ship direct, or bring them back for shipping from your facility.
